The Structure of Hexagram 7

Judgment — Hexagram 7: The Army

At times, one must fight
in order to restrain what is harmful.

Such moments require the strength of many,
clear discipline,
and leadership that can unify people.

Force alone is never enough.
True leadership is established
by earning trust,
clarifying purpose,
and taking responsibility to the very end.

Victory is achieved
not by domination,
but by aligning hearts around a shared aim.

Advice

Before confronting the outer world,
gather your spirit inward.

Within you lie possibilities
that have not yet been brought into form.

By cultivating inner unity
and accepting yourself as you are,
you gain the capacity to accept others
and to act without confusion.

Hexagram 7 is Earth over Water.

☷ Earth
6 ─ ─
5 ─ ─
4 ─ ─
────────
☵ Water
3 ─ ─
2 ───
1 ─ ─

Water represents hidden tension and potential conflict.
Earth represents order, containment, and leadership.

This hexagram asks:
Can disorder be guided without losing integrity?

A Year Through the Six Lines(My 2023 )

First Line (January–February)

Confusion arises.
A problem appears, and one feels lost, unsure whom or what to follow.
Isolation is born from the absence of a clear standard.

Second Line (March–April)

An encounter takes place.
At the time, its importance is unclear,
but it later becomes the core reference for judgment.

Third & Fourth Lines (May–August)

Unawareness continues.
While conflicts unfold elsewhere, their meaning is not yet recognized.
The core exists, but has not yet been named.

Fifth Line (September–October)

Awareness arrives.
The conflicts of the past months become visible,
and the earlier core now functions as a mediator.
Here, one discovers what principle to follow —
not a side, but a guiding idea.

Sixth Line (November–December)

Clarity settles in.
Through the words and vision of an ideal leader —
a leader of principles, not power —
one remembers one’s original role.

The isolation of the first line ends,
not because doubt disappears,
but because the standard of judgment becomes clear.

Stability returns.

Looking Toward my 2026

The other day, I was deeply moved by the tearful words of a woman who visited in December. She said, “It feels as though universe (天) and Earth (地have been turned upside down.”
Her words immediately brought to mind Hexagram 11, Tai, and Hexagram 12, Pi . I offered an explanation of these hexagrams and shared it with others who may be experiencing similar feelings.

This time, I am speaking about the message that appeared in my Winter Solstice readings—first in 2022 as guidance for 2023, and then again in 2026 as the very same message. I hope this reflection will help deepen your understanding of how to read and apply the Yi-Ching.

I conducted a Winter Solstice reading for the first time on December in 2022
It was a personal message from the Yi- Ching for the year 2023.( i apologize that I said it for 2024 on last post but please correct to 2023)
When the same message appeared again in the 2026 reading, I analyzed it by applying it to what had actually happened in 2023.
It proved to be accurate

My Winter Solstice, Hexagram 7 appears again for 2026 . And how connect to Hexagram 8 — Bi (Holding Together)
→ After the guiding principle has been established
→ It addresses who we choose to align with and how a community or group is formed
What, then, is the correct way forward from here. Will be continue after middle of January through my case.
