The winter solstice is the day with the shortest period of daylight and longest night of the year. On this day, the minus – power (陰-yin) is extreme, and from this day on, it will turn to plus -power(陽-yang). In the Yi-Ching , it is considered the beginning of the new year.
On this day, we do Yi-Ching fortune-telling called winter solstice fortune-telling(冬至占). And we will receive a message from Yi -Ching for a coming year.
For Yi-Ching fortune-telling, you can use bamboo sticks or Yi-Ching dice. ( Now there is also an app)
We will introduce an easy way to do it.
1 ,Prepare 3 coins of the same type. You decide which side is the front and which side is the back.
2 , please concentrate and ask your fortune for a coming year .
3 , Please shuffle well inside of your hands and throw 3 coins at the same time. (On the table or desk, etc.)
4, Plus (陽-Yang) or Minus(隠−yin) appears in the coins that came out. Plus is represented by a solid-line and minus is represented by a broken- line.
The combination is
・All three coins are front side ー plus line
・Only one is front side ーplus line
・All three coins are back side — negative lines
・Only one coin is back side — minus line
5, Please write down ーor — to from the bottom of Yi-Ching .
Repeat this process five more times. A total of six times will be thrown.
Write down the results in the process from 1 to 5 each time, write it from bottom to upper and stack it up. Then it becomes the shape of 6 lines Yi-Ching.
